When choosing garden
pond fish, take a little time and learn about the different types.
Some types of garden pond fish are more aggressive than others, and
one type of fish may end up hurting the others. So, definitely be careful
when purchasing your garden pond fish. Most garden pond fish are just
different types of goldfish, but even with the same species, you still
can run into problems. Some of the different types of goldfish are Fantails,
Oranda Goldfish, Pond Comets, and Butterfly Koi.
Because garden pond fish are cold blooded, they will be less active
when the water is cold. During late fall, winter, and early spring,
when the temperature of the water is only 50° to 60° Fahrenheit,
you should only feed the fish once a day. If the temperature goes above
70° Fahrenheit, you should feed the garden pond fish three times
a day.
To keep your garden pond fish healthy, make sure that the water is
aerated and filtered. This will keep the water clean, and help the biological
filtration to work well. Keeping these ideas in mind, shopping for garden
pond fish should be a lot easier.
