An
indoor water
garden pond is not only beautiful to look at, but also adds a sense
of calm to your home. However, indoor ponds are different than outdoor
ponds, so make sure you educate yourself before you dive right in and
start building.
The most important things to know about an indoor water garden pond
are as follows:
· Put netting or build high edges around your pond so that your
fish won’t jump out and die.
· If you are going to build a large indoor pond (50 gallons or
more) it is best to put it in the basement. Heavy ponds that are not
located on the ground floor of a home could fall through or cause significant
water damage. If you do want a pond on an upper level, be sure to hire
a contractor!
· Make sure your pond is set up in an area where it will be easy
to drain and fill it back up. Indoor water gardens need to be cleaned
more often so having it located near a window or door makes it easier
to pump water out and hook up a hose to put water back in.
· It’s best to put your indoor pond near a window, skylight,
or door as it will need to receive as much natural light as possible.
Indoor water garden ponds can sometimes be more work; but once the
work is done, you can sit back and take pleasure in hours of blissful
enjoyment!
