 The
Koi is an ancient fish which originated 2,500 years ago in Eastern Asia
and China and became popular in Japanese garden ponds. They are a type
of carp that can grow to be very large and can live for up to 30 years.
Koi come in over 100 color combinations.
Important aspects of a healthy Koi pond include sunlight, temperature,
plenty of room, and clean water. Koi do not need warm water but they
do grow faster in it and since they can grow to be quite large, the
larger and deeper your pond is, the better.
