Perhaps you have always wanted a pond
water fountain, but have thought that they are not very practical.
Perhaps you have put off adding a pond water fountain to your garden
pond because you think that there are more beneficial things that
you can spend your time and money on. Well, before you completely
deviate from the idea of fountains, take a look at these additional,
non-aesthetic benefits:
· Aeration – pond water fountains aerate the water,
improving the water quality. Aquatic fish and animals need the oxygen
as do beneficial bacteria (ones that decompose organic matter).
· Noise moderator – the splashing and gurgling sounds
of a pond fountain can actually mask more less-wanted sounds, like
those related to traffic.
· Cooling – a fountain can cool an area. The more the
water interacts with the air, the cooler the area will be. Think of
a misting system. They can be especially cooling when combined with
shaded surfaces and shelter from the sun, etc.
So, if you thought that pond water fountains were only good for aesthetic
reasons, you were wrong. There are multiple benefits associated with
pond water fountains.
